As part of our semester exploring knitwear during the Fall '18 semester, we learned the basics of single-bed machine knitting and experimented with various knitting techniques to produce different patterns, textures, and shapes.
Patterns created from inserting punchcards.
Different textures created by needle transfers, holding off sections of the knitting bed, manual weaving, punchcards, etc.
Knit samples draped onto a dress form as part of my experimentation in creating unique shapes and patterns with certain knit techniques. Ultimately, they informed the final outcome of my "Lady Ardent" collection.
