I reflected on my life as an American-born-Chinese, specifically how I see myself as well as how others see me. Growing up in two very different countries has provided my life with so much meaning, but when asked the question "where are you from?" I always hesitate; it's not a question that I can answer with one place, nor do I want to.
On the left sits who I am as a person in America, and on the right, who I am in China. I've realized I am not really the same person in these two places. I dress different, talk different, and behave different. And people say different things about who I am: in China, everyone points out how American I am, and in America people question and make assumptions about my Chinese identity. This project is a reflection of that.
